Follow me as I follow Christ

Follow me as I follow Christ By Ivan Ho    31 Dec 2016 Paul says in 1 Corinthians 11:1 “Imitate me, just as I also imitate Christ”. In other words, “Follow me, as I follow Christ”. This is the most important principle of leadership.   Further to laying down this leadership/ followership principle, Paul went on to explain the principle of headship and spiritual covering between Christ and the church, between husband and wife. But if one ignores the foundational principle set out in verse one, the headship principle of human leadership and structure would have nothing to stand on. We are only required to submit to godly authorities on earth in so far as the leaders we follow are submitted to Christ, just as Paul says: “follow me as I follow Christ”. We are not bound by the earthly chains of command if leaderships step outside of godly principles and in so...

God of love and government

God of Love and Government By Ivan Ho  25 Dec 2016   For unto us a Child is born, Unto us a Son is given; And the government will be upon His shoulder. And His name will be called Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. Of the increase of His government and peace There  will  be no end, Upon the throne of David and over His kingdom, To order it and establish it with judgment and justice From that time forward, even forever. The zeal of the Lord of hosts will perform this. Isaiah 9:6‭-‬7 NKJV   “My job is to love people, not judge them” thus say some pastors and leaders today. If one only talks about the love of God in churches, everyone seems to be happy about it. “Love is all that there is” is the motto of one of my friends, and he doesn’t believe in God. The fact is: we don’t have to believe in God to love....

Living in Faith

Living in Faith By Ivan Ho    17 Dec 2016   Now Faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. Hebrews 11:1   A lot of us live in hope rather than Faith. Living in hope is better than living without hope, but we need to move from hope to faith. When we live in faith, we know that things we hoped for have already come to past even before we see them manifest before our physical eyes. When hope is not based on what God says, then it is more like “wishful thinking”. But faith is not wishful thinking for it is established upon the word of God. When God speaks, what He says has already come to past, only a matter of time! A lot of people, because they fail to see things happen in the circumstances around them, tend to loose hope and abandon faith, or try to make things happen in their flesh. Hagar and Ishmael were outcomes of the flesh...

Operating in the realm of the Spirit

Operating in the realm of the Spirit By Ivan Ho   1 Dec 2016   How does a person discern what is of God, what is of man, and what is of the devil? The answer, is not found in the natural level in which most people, including believers, operate: what looks good or bad to them. It is in the spiritual level where things become clear. It is operating on the Spirit level that one can make sound judgement, make right decisions, have discernment and walk in faith. When we operate on the Spirit level, we can tell whether someone is speaking the truth, or being deceived. While the devil, disguised as an angel of light, always operate in deceptions and lies, the Spirit of God only speaks and reveals the truth. It is at this level that we speak, pray, prophesy, pass sound judgement and make godly decisions. It does not matter what the circumstances and what all the people around you are...
