Eat not the forbidden fruit

Eat not the forbidden fruit By Ivan Ho   10 May 2017   The greatest danger of the false prophets is not in the lies they produce but the false disciples they make. When Eve fell into deception, the first thing she did was to give Adam the forbidden fruit. That is why God warns us of false prophets in the last days for they will draw people away from the true gospel of Jesus. Every time you see a false prophet, I will guarantee that you will also see false disciples of his. In fact, some false prophets have great numbers of followers all over the world, especially with the help of internet today. Rest assured that false prophets are not false prophets if they keep their false doctrines to themselves and living seclusive lives. They will want to pass the forbidden fruits to those around them, some sincerely wanting to share what they partook what they thought is good. They will want...

If God is for us

If God is for us By Ivan Ho    6 May 2017   And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose. For whom He foreknew, He also predestined to be conformed to the image of His Son, that He might be the firstborn among many brethren. Moreover whom He predestined, these He also called; whom He called, these He also justified; and whom He justified, these He also glorified. What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us? Romans 8:28‭-‬31 NKJV     God gave the dream to Nebuchadnezzar but didn’t give him the interpretation. Daniel was there at the right place and the right time to interpret the dream. The awesome dream spoke of the destinies of nations and the everlasting kingdom of Christ. However, of all people, the dream was first spoken to the idol worshipper...

Surround yourself with the right people

Surround yourself with the right people By Ivan Ho  3 May 2017   Be diligent to come to me quickly; for Demas has forsaken me, having loved this present world, and has departed for Thessalonica —Crescens for Galatia, Titus for Dalmatia. Only Luke is with me. Get Mark and bring him with you, for he is useful to me for ministry. And Tychicus I have sent to Ephesus. Bring the cloak that I left with Carpus at Troas when you come—and the books, especially the parchments.   Alexander the coppersmith did me much harm. May the Lord repay him according to his works. You also must beware of him, for he has greatly resisted our words. At my first defense no one stood with me, but all forsook me. May it not be charged against them.   But the Lord stood with me and strengthened me, so that the message might be preached fully through me, and that all the Gentiles might hear. Also I...

Familiarity can hinder breakthrough

Familiarity can hinder breakthrough By Ivan Ho     1 May 2015   Most modern churches, when they get to certain size, tend to put people into groups according to their age, background, interests and so on, and call them “life groups” or “cell groups”. Some groups have the same people of similar backgrounds and life experiences meet together for years and years, and become so strongly bonded that they become strong “clicks”. They become so at home and familiar with each other. Little do they know, gradually they have also boxed themselves in over time, forming opinions on each other within the group, and confining others to those familiar rolls according to how they grow up seeing each other. Subconsciously, they even put a tag on you that says: “so and so, a pastor” or however they cast you. They expect you to behave like a pastor for...
