Idols in the heart 2

Idols in the heart 2 By Ivan Ho   21 Oct 2016   Introduction   Then some elders of Israel came to me and sat down before me. And the word of the Lord came to me, saying, “Son of man, these men have set up their idols in their hearts and have put right before their faces the stumbling block of their iniquity. Should I be consulted by them at all? Ezekiel 14:1‭-‬3 NASB   Ezekiel 14 tells us that certain elders, who were experienced men amongst the Israelites, came to Ezekiel the prophet to consult him to get his prophetic insights from God. In other words, these men wanted to get a word from the Lord through Ezekiel, who was regarded as a true prophet or a spokesman for God. As soon as these elders sat down with Ezekiel, however, the Lord revealed to him their heart conditions, that they had set up idols in their hearts! Therefore speak to them and tell them, ‘Thus...

Idols in the heart

Idols in the heart By Ivan Ho      20 Oct 2016   Before someone comes to the Lord, the idols that he worships are external. They are idols that he turns to for answers to his prayers, the false gods that he worships instead of Jesus. These idols are external.   However, when a person has come to know the God of the bible, he is either totally devoted to worship the one true God, or his heart can be divided. For the person who is not totally committed to Jesus,  idols have somehow found their way inside his heart. The idol is set up in his heart, occupying his thoughts, his will, his emotions. When that happens, that person has put himself in a precariously dangerous position in direct enmity with God. I say it again: that person is no longer in friendly terms with God but in direct enmity with Him. God does not tolerate idols! I would like to think that God still loves him...

The power of one

The power of one By Ivan Ho  17 Oct 16   But Jesus knew their thoughts, and said to them: “Every kingdom divided against itself is brought to desolation, and every city or house divided against itself will not stand. If Satan casts out Satan, he is divided against himself. How then will his kingdom stand? Mt 12:25‭-‬26 NKJV   The satanic kingdom is a united force and they have a leadership structure that works full time against God and His people. The very reason why the devil can implement his wicked schemes on earth is that he can identify where human weak links are. The lion looks for the one that is isolated and detached from the family as the prey. The devil is always looking for an opening to attack those who are vulnerable. He divides and conquor. He identifies the sons of disobedience and uses them to advance his schemes in our church, families, cities and nations. He...

Does God love everyone?

Does God love everyone? By Ivan Ho       1 Oct 2016 “God loves everybody the same” so says some pastors and leaders. I have heard that being preached somewhere from the pulpit. My initial response was: “Does He really?” Needless to say, I did not agree with his teaching. I wasn’t questioning whether or not He loves me, but I was questioning whether or not God loves everybody, and if He does, whether He loves everybody the same? Frankly, I believe “God loves everybody” is a false teaching that comes from the spirit of error, a teaching which is made popular by some leaders, even though they may be speaking with sincerity of heart. I hope those of you who disagree with me would still love me for saying this. After all, you also “love everybody” regardless, right?   If “God loves everybody”, then nobody goes to hell at...

Counsel from heaven vs counsel from hell

Counsel from heaven vs counsel from hell By Ivan Ho    21 Sept 2016   Blessed is the man who walks not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor stands in the path of sinners, nor sits in the seat of the scornful; but his delight is in the law of the Lord , and in His law he meditates day and night. He shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that brings forth its fruit in its season, whose leaf also shall not wither; and whatever he does shall prosper. Psalm 1:1‭-‬3 NKJV   I wonder who are your counsels in life, who do you consult with about things you go through, major decisions you face in life? Who do you surround yourself with, who do you spend time with everyday? Who is speaking into your life? Oprah? or your heavenly Father?   Counsel from hell   When someone gives you advice that contradicts God’s word, that’s an ungodly counsel you need to...

Relationship with God 3

Relationship with God   By Ivan Ho   7 Sept 2016   Our relationship with God is the most important relationship in life, not only in this life but throughout eternity. Our relationship with God begins when Jesus comes to us through His Word and reveals Himself to us in a personal way. When the Word of God comes, some may reject Him but for those who receive Jesus, they become born again and enter into a new relationship with God. However, our relationship with God does not stay at the point of our salvation, but needs to continue to grow stronger and stronger each day. There are attitudes and principles we can apply in our daily life that will help us strengthen our relationship with Him.   1. Press the start button 2. Put away idols   3. Pursue God Himself     And as He walked by the Sea of Galilee, He saw Simon and Andrew his brother casting a net into...
