Relationship with God By Ivan Ho       First written  31 Aug 2016   We are created in God‘s image with the innate desire to relate with Our Creator as well as with one another. When Jesus died on the cross for us, God’s primary purpose is to restore man‘s relationship with the heavenly Father. What are the principles and factors that will help us relate to God the way God intends it? I believe there are key principles as well as practical steps  we can take that will enhance our relationship with God. If you do not yet have a relationship with God, you can take a forward step and make a start today!   1. Press the start button   Every journey has a starting point and a finishing point. If you never start to walk, hop on a bus or board a plane, you will never embark on a journey. The most important button on the computer is the start button. If you never press the start...

Insights on head covering

Insights on head covering (1Corinthians 11) By Ivan Ho    First written 19 Feb 2016 Now I praise you, brethren, that you remember me in all things and keep the traditions just as I delivered them to you. But I want you to know that the head of every man is Christ, the head of woman is man, and the head of Christ is God. Every man praying or prophesying, having his head covered, dishonors his head. But every woman who prays or prophesies with her head uncovered dishonors her head, for that is one and the same as if her head were shaved. For if a woman is not covered, let her also be shorn. But if it is shameful for a woman to be shorn or shaved, let her be covered. For a man indeed ought not to cover his head, since he is the image and glory of God; but woman is the glory of man. For man is not from woman, but woman from man. Nor was man created for the woman, but woman for the man. For...

The process of decline

THE PROCESS OF DECLINE  (Genesis 3) By Ivan Ho    First written 29 April 2016   There are 3 kinds of voices in the garden of Eden: God‘s voice, man‘s voice and the devil‘s voice.   Similarly, there are 3 kinds of voices in our world, and 3 kinds of voices in the church today: God‘s voice, man‘s voice and the devil‘s voice.   The devil, who disguised himself as the serpent, secretively spoke to Eve uninvited while Adam was not with her. Eve, who was naive, responded and engaged herself with a conversation with the serpent. That’s her first mistake.   Then the devil appealed to her intellect and challenged her understanding of God’s word: “Did God indeed say…?” which got her thinking.  The serpent said to the woman, “You will not surely die. For God knows that in the day you eat of it your eyes will be opened, and you will be like God,...

Dream of building foundation         10 Sept 2015 By Ivan Ho   On 10 Sept 2015 I have a dream in which I see myself with a group of people working on the building of what looks like a double storey deep basement car park of a huge building. The basement is all white in colour and complete but its superstructure is yet to be built.   In the dream I find myself inside the double storey basement foundation of a large building.  I realise that the group of people are fellow coworkers working together in different parts of the building foundation. The impression I have is that it is a Christian project. However, it is not a church building designed solely for Sunday services. Rather, it is a building to be built for the community which can also be used for Christian gatherings.   As I am walking around the basement I can see that it is built in bricks and all in white colour....

Lessons from the rich young ruler By Ivan Ho              First written 26 June 2016   Now as He was going out on the road, one came running, knelt before Him, and asked Him, “Good Teacher, what shall I do that I may inherit eternal life?” So Jesus said to him, “Why do you call Me good? No one is good but One, that is, God. You know the commandments: ‘Do not commit adultery,’ ‘Do not murder,’ ‘Do not steal,’ ‘Do not bear false witness,’ ‘Do not defraud,’ ‘Honor your father and your mother.’ ” And he answered and said to Him, “Teacher, all these things I have kept from my youth.” Then Jesus, looking at him, loved him, and said to him, “One thing you lack: Go your way, sell whatever you have and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven; and come, take up the cross, and follow Me.” But he was sad at this word, and went away sorrowful, for he had great possessions. Mark...
