God knew from the beginning

God knew from the beginning By Ivan Ho.  17 April 2017   “It is the Spirit who gives life; the flesh profits nothing. The words that I speak to you are spirit, and they are life. But there are some of you who do not believe.” For Jesus knew from the beginning who they were who did not believe, and who would betray Him. And He said, “Therefore I have said to you that no one can come to Me unless it has been granted to him by My Father.” John 6:63‭-‬65 NKJV     Note that it weren’t the pagans who sent Jesus to the cross. But it was the Pharisees, the teachers of the law, the high priest who persecuted and sentenced Jesus to death penalty even though they found no sin in Him. These religious people knew and studied the scriptures but could not get the revelation of who Jesus was.   Jesus knew who would betray Him Then there was Judas who walked closely with...

Divine pattern of marriage

Divine pattern of marriage By Ivan Ho   31 Mar 2017   And the Lord God caused a deep sleep to fall on Adam, and he slept; and He took one of his ribs, and closed up the flesh in its place. Then the rib which the Lord God had taken from man He made into a woman, and He brought her to the man. And Adam said: “This is now bone of my bones And flesh of my flesh; She shall be called Woman, Because she was taken out of Man.” Therefore a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, and they shall become one flesh. And they were both naked, the man and his wife, and were not ashamed. Genesis 2:21‭-‬25 NKJV   The influence of humanism “From Principle viewpoint Humanism is the reversal of all God’s principles. It sounds nice and has seemingly good aims for a better world, but it puts Object over Subject (Wife over Husband; Children before Parents;...

Meaning of dream of woman on a couch

Meaning of dream of woman on a couch By Ivan Ho   30 March 2017   When I woke up from my dream, I did not quite understand what it was all about. About 2 weeks later, however, as I looked up the biblical references of beds and couches, I found that such symbolism were mentioned in the book of Amos.  It began to dawn on me what God is saying through the dream. Here are some of my thoughts on the dream:   The woman I saw is someone I know in the church. The dream is a vision of what the Holy Spirit is seeing about her, and the changes God wants her to make in her life. I believe the dream is also a picture of what God sees about some contemporary churches.   The symbolism of ‘bed and couch’ appears in the following scriptures in the book of Amos:   Thus saith the Lord ; As the shepherd taketh out of the mouth of the lion two legs, or a piece of an ear; so...

Dream of woman on a couch

on Mar 27, 2017 in Dreams | 0 comments

Dream of woman on a couch, 19 Mar 2017, HK By Ivan Ho   In the dream I am in a room where there is a big bed with white sheets in the middle. However there is no bedhead, only a Queen size bed mattress with white sheets on the floor without bed base. Seated on the bed is a young woman. I can see who she is. Then I see an Asian looking man, dressed in white, come in from behind and sit next to her. Seeing that, I go and challenge the man for a fight, saying: “Let’s have a spar”. Although he seems bigger, I beat the man up but he persists in staying next to her. I fight the man again until he leaves.     Then, in the next part of the dream,  I see myself walking with this woman as if we are on a beach. We are in a 5 days church retreat in a beach resort area. In my mind, I wish the church camp would last longer. Then I see the woman walking from a beach...

Make up your mind

Make up your mind By Ivan Ho   13 Mar 2016   “No one can serve two masters; for either he will hate the one and love the other, or else he will be loyal to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and mammon.” Matthew 6:24 NKJV   And Elijah came to all the people, and said, “How long will you falter between two opinions? If the Lord is God, follow Him; but if Baal, follow him.” But the people answered him not a word. I Kings 18:21 NKJV   These words are not given to unbelievers who have no God in their hearts. Rather, they are spoken to the people of God. There are some followers of Jesus whose hearts are divided. They are the ones who cannot decide who their master is. One moment they read the Bible and agree with God’s words but the next minute they listen to the opinion of the devil and say: “That sounds good!”. They are being...

From the old to the new

From the old to the new By Ivan Ho    2 March 2017   Then He spoke a parable to them: “No one puts a piece from a new garment on an old one; otherwise the new makes a tear, and also the piece that was taken out of the new does not match the old. And no one puts new wine into old wineskins; or else the new wine will burst the wineskins and be spilled, and the wineskins will be ruined. But new wine must be put into new wineskins, and both are preserved. And no one, having drunk old wine, immediately desires new; for he says, ‘The old is better.’ ” Luke 5:36‭-‬39 NKJV   Torn between the new and the old You keep going back to your old ways because you surround yourself with the same old group of people who have been putting rubbish in your mind. You cannot renew your old mindset that keeps you in defeat if the people and things that constantly surround your life remains in the...

Dealing with fools

Dealing with fools By Ivan Ho   28 Feb 2017   As snow in summer and rain in harvest, so honor is not fitting for a fool.   Like a flitting sparrow, like a flying swallow, so a curse without cause shall not alight. A whip for the horse, a bridle for the donkey, and a rod for the fool’s back.   Do not answer a fool according to his folly, lest you also be like him. Answer a fool according to his folly, lest he be wise in his own eyes.   He who sends a message by the hand of a fool cuts off his own feet and drinks violence.   Like the legs of the lame that hang limp Is a proverb in the mouth of fools.   Like one who binds a stone in a sling is he who gives honor to a fool.   Like a thorn that goes into the hand of a drunkard is a proverb in the mouth of fools.   The great God who formed everything gives the fool his hire and the transgressor his...

Restraint that leads to true freedom

Restraint that leads to true freedom By Ivan Ho   25 Feb 2017   Whoever has no rule over his own spirit Is like a city broken down, without walls. Proverbs 25:28 NKJV   A person whose heart and mind is not subject to governance does not know how to show restraint. His spirit has no control and without boundary. When a person does not restraint his own spirit, his mind wanders about here there and everywhere instead of being guided by the word of God. His spirit is easily influenced and led by the people and things he makes contacts with. He does not choose his friends nor does he choose where he goes. He is a loose canon, a free thinker whose spirit is not being channeled in the right direction nor guided by the Spirit of God. His spirit is liberal but not set free.   In contrast, a person whose spirit is subject to governance shows restraint and discipline. He keeps his...
