God creates me

“God is still in the business of creating man” Dr Jonathan David
That is the introduction to the message Dr Jonathan David gives to us today in Life Centre church in Sydney.
We are reminded that God creates us for a higher purpose, not just to get blessed, get a job, get married, and then die. That is the pathway most people choose.
God says: we are fearfully and wonderfully made!
No one in their right mind would design and create something with all the ingredients and careful thoughts put into it for no reason! When a high speed train is designed and built, for example, there is a purpose for it. When a building is created and designed and built, it is custom made for the purpose it is designed for. Is it going to be a school, or is it going to be a church? The designer already know in advance its purpose before creation. How much more when God the Creator creates a person! When we say a person is fearfully and wonderfully made, we are not just talking about his physical attributes or self worth, but also the unique purpose God has created the individual to fulfull during the cause of his or her life.
The creation of a man does not stop at the point of his birth, but the process of creation continues as the person grows up. God is in the purpose of continually making and refining the man or woman until the person becomes mature and perfected in Christ and in so doing, all the ingredients needed is placed in the man for him to fulfill his or her God given purpose in life.
If we think our purpose in life is just to get a job, earn a living, get married, and educate our kids to do the same, then we really miss the point. If that is the case, we are not unlike the animal kingdom. Animals also do the same activities: they hunt, eat, sleep, mate, reproduce and teach their offsprings to do the same, then die! The only thing they don’t do is perhaps play computer games or surf the net but I’m sure they also find ways to amuse themselves in their own ways.
Unlike the animal creatures, man is created in the image of God, and we are given a mandate to fulfill on earth!
Then God said, “Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness; let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over the cattle, over all the earth and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth.” So God created man in His own image; in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them. Then God blessed them, and God said to them, “Be fruitful and multiply; fill the earth and subdue it; have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over every living thing that moves on the earth.”
Genesis 1:26-28
According to the word of God in Genesis, God creates man and gives him the mandate to be fruitful and multiply, and to subdue and take dominion on earth.
We have an assignment to fulfill in life, and that is to influence the domains to which we are assigned, to touch the lives around us. We are not created to be eaten up by the corrupt systems in the world and be subdued by demonic and worldly influences. The problem is: what we fail to subdue and take dominion will end up subduing us, and that is not what God wants and created us to be.
The only way we can fulfill our God given assignment on earth is to connect with our Creator and allow Him to change us, mould us and empower us from within so that we can influence what is round and about us!
“God creates me
God blesses me
God speaks to me
God makes me fruitful!”
Dr Jonathan David
