Position for God encounter

God encounter is not a chance encounter. Rather, it involves purposeful positioning.

When God first appeared to Samuel, the boy did not know who was speaking. He had to position himself attentively in order to hear from God.

When the woman with the issue of blood heard that Jesus was in town, she had to purposefully move to where Jesus was in order to touch his garment. The moment she did that, she was set free.

The disciples had to position themselves in the upper room to wait for the outpouring of the Holy Spirit on the day of Pentecost.

God is near you but unless you realise His presence and position yourself accurately, you will not encounter his presence. There is a meeting place between you and God made possible by Christ . When you purposefully move across to that God appointed place, you will meet with him.

God encounter is not for passive people, nor is it for people running around aimlessly.

Draw near to God and he will draw near to you.

James 4:8a NKJV

Stay in your place of assignment

4 Apr 2021

Even though the boy David wasn’t recognised by his father, he faithfully tended for his father’s sheep. That was his place of assignment away from the spotlight. He did not abandon his position and looked for greener pastures elsewhere. In God’s time, the prophet Samuel came while David was shepherding sheep, and anointed him to become king of Israel. His predestined God encounter suddenly came because his father knew where to find him when the prophet Samuel spoke. After David was filled with the Spirit of God, it would take him another 13 years before he would eventually rise to the position as king. Had David abandoned his place of assignment and ran away, he would have missed his divine encounter.

Do not run away from your father and the position of assignment where God places you. However insignificant the position may seem, whether working with children or setting up chairs, stay there until God calls you out in His perfect timing.

Jesus the Son of God stayed with his earthly father for 30 years and worked as a carpenter before he began his public ministry.
