Unmasking the spirit of Jezebel 3
by Ivan Ho 13 Oct 2021
Nevertheless I have a few things against you, because you allow that woman Jezebel, who calls herself a prophetess, to teach and seduce My servants to commit sexual immorality and eat things sacrificed to idols.
Revelation 2:20 NKJV
5. Jezebel is a spirit of seduction
- Seduction begins with suggestive seed thoughts
To implement certain schemes, the enemy first puts a seed thought in your mind. At that point, it is just a speculative possibility thinking or imagination. That’s when you need to reject it straightaway. But like Eve, many of us just allow the seed thought to stay there without necessarily agreeing with or rejecting it. Then the enemy comes back later to water that seed and it grows. When nothing is done about it, the person allows the thought to grow in his mind and he embraces it until it becomes a stronghold. Before long it becomes inevitable that the person will act upon the thought in his or her mind that was planted by the devil some time ago. The goal of the devil is to gradually win you over to believe in the seductive thoughts he puts in your mind.
God sows his word into your heart but the enemy comes and sows tares into your mind. If the weeds are not removed and dealt with they will transform from possibility thinking to reality. The goal of motivational and psychological speakers is to change your mindset to explore what are possible. They almost never say ‘No’ to anything, always try to influence you to accept what are possible. For example, someone suggested that man comes from monkeys, or that certain virus is a pandemic that requires extreme human control measures, and people begin to ponder those thoughts until they accept them as gospel truth. That’s what mass media controlled by the enemy does, keeps on drumming into your mind the same ideas day in day out until the masses believe them as facts. Then they can be manipulated to act upon the ideas which were planted in their minds. They begin to accept as norm that which they would otherwise reject as ridiculous.
For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds; casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ.
2 Corinthians 10:4-5 KJV
On the other hand, God never sows speculative mindsets. He never speculates nor does he suggests what are possible. What God says are already done. God says: Let there be light and there was light! He gives you creative thoughts instead of speculative thoughts. Dreams from God are not fantasies but realities of heaven spoken in creative ways. For example, in a dream, Jacob saw a ladder on earth that reaches heaven and angels ascending up and down on it. Then God spoke from heaven about his destiny (Genesis 28:12-16). What Jacob saw in the dream is a heavenly vision pertaining to God’s destiny for his life at the time when he was struggling.
- Seduction always appeals to your soul
No one in his or right right mind would fall for something (or someone) if it doesn’t look good, if it doesn’t appeal to the soul. Familiar spirits know what are attractive to your soul more than you realise. The spirit of seduction knows what kind of food you like, what are the things that you are attracted to and use them as baits to entice you. The seductive person would put on the plate things that are tailor made for you in order to entice you. It is a bit like YouTube, once they realise what your interests and likings are, they will continue to feed you with more similar channels that appeal to you. If they realise your passion is cooking, for example, they will feed you with channels that talk about cooking. The devil won’t come to entice you with things you don’t like.
If the devil approaches you with horns and an evil look, you would move away immediately. He is more cunning than that and often comes to you with appearance of good and words of flattery that appeal to your soul. He would paint a pretty picture in front of you that are pleasing to your eyes and desirable to your soul.
Then the serpent said to the woman, “You will not surely die. For God knows that in the day you eat of it your eyes will be opened, and you will be like God, knowing good and evil.” So when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree desirable to make one wise, she took of its fruit and ate. She also gave to her husband with her, and he ate.
Genesis 3:4-6 NKJV
On the other hand, when God speaks to you, it is not about what you like to hear but what you need to hear.
- Seduction aims to take you captive
Little do you know, behind the bait is a trap that will take you captive in doing the devil’s will until you repent and come to your senses and walk away from the temptation. When the enemy keeps you in captivity, he fills your calendar with programs so that you are no longer free to do God’s will and that’s what the enemy wants.
And a servant of the Lord must not quarrel but be gentle to all, able to teach, patient, in humility correcting those who are in opposition, if God perhaps will grant them repentance, so that they may know the truth, and that they may come to their senses and escape the snare of the devil, having been taken captive by him to do his will.
II Timothy 2:24-26 NKJV
- Seduction aims to lead you astray
Notice what the word ‘seduce‘ means according to Strong’s concordance:
to (properly cause to) roam (from safety truth or virtue): – go astray, deceive, err, seduce, wander, be out of the way.
The ultimate plot of the spirit of Jezebel is to lead you away from fulfilling God’s destiny for your life. He makes you wander away from God’s pre-ordained pathway and to take an alternative route that is not what God has planned for you.
Return to God, return to destiny
The key to overcoming demonic influences isn’t just casting out demons. If we realise that we have wandered away from God’s pathway, by God’s grace we need to get back on course and return to God which is what repentance is all about. The further we persist in walking in our own ways, the further we would move away from God’s destiny for our lives. The time for repentance is now.
