Divine order in the family 1

Why does New Testament scripture talk about Adam and Eve? Because Paul was laying down a principle which is relevant for today. Christ is the same yesterday today and forever, not just regarding healings.

Eve was the one being deceived (1 Tim 2:13-15) and Paul saw it being a tendency amongst women, including church going women, because they fail to follow the order of God’s creation.

Let the woman learn in silence with all subjection. But I suffer not a woman to teach, nor to usurp authority over the man, but to be in silence. FOR Adam was first formed, then Eve. AND Adam was not deceived, but the woman being deceived was in the transgression. NOTWITHSTANDING she shall be saved in childbearing, IF they continue in faith and charity and holiness with sobriety.
1 Timothy 2:11‭-‬15 KJV

If we are to understand this scripture properly, these verses should be read together as a whole, for they are connected by words like ‘for, and, notwithstanding, if… “, and also with other parts of the Bible such as Genesis and 1 Corinthians 11.

Apostle Paul says: “I do not permit a woman to teach, nor to usurp authority over the man“, not because of a woman’s lack of ability to teach, but due to the observation in the previous verse (lack of learning and not being under authority) and the reason given in the following verse (for Adam was formed first, then Eve, being the order of God’s creation).

If you are an evolutionist, you may challenge God’s design and creation. But since you believe God created the world and mankind, you have to accept God’s perfect design and order of His creation. It has nothing to do with equality or ability of women. God created me a man and I accept who God has created me to be, but to go against the fact that men and women are created equal but subject to God’s divine order in the family is utterly stupid and disregard of God’s authority. For the woman to usurp authority over the man in the family, she puts herself in the same mentality as Lucifer who, despite his beauty and giftings, tried to usurp God’s authority.

Paul goes on to say: “And Adam was not deceived, but the woman, being the one deceived, was in the transgression”. Being deceived is one thing, being deceived and in the transgression is a much more serious offence. Deceptions often lead us to transgression of God’s commands, and both Adam and Eve fell into sin following Eve’s deception. When a woman is not subject to her husband (or her father before marriage), she is open to suggestions from the devil. When a woman is disconnected with the authority figures in the family, she tends to run around connecting herself with the wrong things and people who approach her. When the woman keeps on defying the voice of authority God places over her life, she will be vulnerable to other suggestions and demonic deceptions. The same is true for a man who is not properly connected with the God given authority over his life. A disconnected soul always looks for substitutes to fill the void in his or her heart. When a person is depressed due to lack of proper connection and governance, he will be vulnerable to wrong influences, or turn to things like alcohol or drugs for comfort. In other words, the root cause of many family breakdowns and addictions in our society is often due to messing up God’s principles and divine order.
