The deceiver and the deceived

Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils.
1 Timothy 4:1 KJV

The Spirit warns us that in the last days many will fall into deception, including the elites. The trouble is, many people today are under deception and they don’t even realise it. We need to know that one of the deadliest weapons Satan uses against us is deception. The devil was a liar in the beginning at the garden of Eden.

And Adam was not deceived, but the woman being deceived was in the transgression.
1 Timothy 2:14 KJV

The bible says that Eve was deceived but Adam wasn’t deceived. Why? After all, didn’t both of them eat the same fruit?

You see, for one to be deceived, there needs to be a deceiver. Satan was the deceiver who set out to deceive Eve. But Eve didn’t have the intention to deceive her husband. She genuinely believed she was offering Adam something good, and he took it without hesitation. Many false teachers, or people who convince you into some sort of investments, do not set out with the intention to deceive you. They genuinely believe they are offering you a good product. They genuinely believe they are helping you or trying to change your life for the better. Little do they know they have been used by the devil.

When Peter tried to counsel Jesus out of the way of the cross, he was full of “good” intention, not knowing that it was Satan who was influencing him. Oftentimes it is the ones who are closest to us who are being used by the devil to lead us astray.

If we do not know what spirit is operating behind the person who speaks, we will fall into all kinds of temptations and errors that will sabotage God’s destiny for our lives.
